I believe that learning will continue to be distributed further and further outside of a physical space, and that learners will continue to have greater and greater access to quality educational materials. I predict that teachers will have a shift from content dissemination to life preparation. This could look like instilling quality economic advice, or even job preparedness, and most hopefully, finding passion and a place in society. Students currently are unprepared for life beyond high school and as society and technology evolve at a more rapid pace than ever before it will only continue the need for this life preparedness. I’m not sure how teachers roles will change over the next years but they will need to adapt to technology to meet their learners needs as beyond the classroom as technological literacy is critical. I’d imagine learning to code would replace or coexist alongside a similar space to that of any language courses. Teachers will have to maintain their technological literacy alongside their students in order to teach safe and effective use. Secondary school I believe will see a shift outside of traditional classrooms, but I think face to face learning will always be useful. I suspect that large tech companies will try and establish a foothold in the education space (more so than they currently do). I am hopeful that education will continue to get better and better and teachers will also follow suit. Independent learning will become more and more important as the information available on the internet becomes easier to understand and access.
